Sustainability Profit, Planet, People

To ensure a sustainable business model, we need to shift to long-term thinking and take a fresh perspective. At Swiss WorldCargo we believe that the 3 Ps of sustainability – Profit, Planet, People – cannot be seen in isolation. And it is a company’s attitude, its values and its ethics that need to form the links between these pillars of sustainability and carefully connect them in innovative ways.

Profit: Creating a platform for reliable long-term profitability, funding investments and building stakeholders value.

Planet: Managing our resources and environment for future generations in innovative ways.

People: Attracting, retaining and motivating talented individuals and teams, as well as taking ownership for everything we do.

Environment

Responsible capitalism requires its participants to maintain a fine balance between protecting our fragile ecosystem and keeping the wheels of commerce going. To achieve this balance, we have embarked on a series of projects that will help reduce our environmental footprint and shift to a greener air cargo.

Our Commitment

Redesigned fleets

In recent years, we have invested billions in the new low emission aircraft (Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A220) and we are proud to operate one of the youngest and most fuel efficient fleets in the industry.

Efficient trucking

All our partners are obliged to use modern equipment and efficient route planning. Furthermore, they are expected to continuously invest in renewing their fleets and training the drivers to ensure ecological standards.

Light weight ULDs

In the next four years, all our AKE containers (provided by our ULD management partner - Jettainer) will be replaced by new and innovative light weight containers. This will significantly reduce weight and consequently fuel consumption and emissions.

Conservation & recycling

We insist on the use of standard agreements that encourage our ground handling partners to conserve natural resources, avoid the use of hazardous materials wherever possible, and actively reuse and recycle materials.
