Quality stands at the heart of everything that we do at Swiss WorldCargo.
Quality means not only meeting or exceeding our promises to the customer, it also entails continuous monitoring, and continuous improvement. This is why the Senior Manager Quality and Safety Assurance reports directly to the Chief Cargo Officer and head of Swiss WorldCargo, and is a Member of the top Management Team. This is why we have developed a Quality Concept, which is implemented throughout the organization and closely linked to corporate processes of the airline. The Quality Concept includes the development and implementation of an integrated set of metrics covering every aspect of our operational and commercial processes, including those aspects which are outsourced to handling, trucking or other partners. The second pillar of our Quality Concept is a detailed plan of audits, both internal and external, to verify the execution of the processes and to establish any needs for correction or improvement. Finally, the third pillar is a comprehensive plan of mandatory and optional trainings, which are delivered to the staff or partners concerned either by our own trainers or external parties.
As proof of our commitment to continuous improvement, we have adopted the well-established kaizen methodology, with an Officer responsible for planning and executing regular workshops to test and improve various aspects of our operations.
We believe that Quality is not only an internal matter but also requires full transparency towards our customers and partners. Swiss WorldCargo has therefore been an active member of the Cargo 2000 industry-wide initiative since its inception. This is a group of around 55 leading airlines, forwarders and logistics companies that aims to define measurable processes backed by uniform quality standards to increase the efficiency of airfreight, improve customer service levels and reduce operating costs. Swiss WorldCargo has certified all of its stations in its network in accordance with Cargo 2000. We are continuously ranked amongst the top airlines in terms of published Cargo 2000 results.
